Jason Neal is an American drummer/percussionist born in Augusta, GA and residing in Richmond, VA. He began his career at the age of 14 while attending Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School. His father played drums throughout his youth which kept him absorbed in the arts and helped him develop a skill of his own. One of his first performing opportunities was with fusion jazz artist, Elliot Holden (Guitar Player Magazine). This gig took him through high school and set him up to continue after graduating. During that time he was also playing in metal bands in dirty rock clubs, hip hop groups in speakeasy's, and jazz groups in cafes.
Performed/recorded with: Carbon Leaf, Ashlee Simpson, Tommy Stanley (NBC's Nashville Star), Josh Shilling (Mountain Heart), Brandon Bower, Patrick Blanchard, Rainmarket, Elliot Holden, Firing Squad (hardcore punk), and The Naptural (hip hop artist), just to name a few.
